Human Resources

As the name suggests, this department is literally a resource for humans. HR professionals are central to the functioning of Classic Fine Foods as they take care of the company’s most valuable asset: our employees.

They ensure that employees have everything they need to perform their day-to-day tasks and are also responsible for creating a healthy and safe work environment that attracts and holds on to qualified professionals. The Human Resources department supports business needs and company strategy through the recruitment and onboarding of employees, including compensation and benefits management, payroll, employees’ training and development, and employee relations.

From the recruitment process to resolving conflicts, my role is to make sure that the company’s goals are achieved and that our employees reach their full potential. What I like best about my job is staying in touch with people and building relationships which allow me to address the staff’s concerns as soon as they have a problem, an inquiry, a difficult time or just want to have a chat.

A great day at work is when I am able to give the right guidance to an employee. Everything I do in my work comes from the heart, and I am proud to have my superiors and my colleagues’ trust.

Recently, I had the privilege to work on a new and exciting project which my GM entrusted me with: the Classic Fine Foods Training Academy. It is a three-month internship program to help students gain work experience in the following departments: Customer Development, Customer Service, Marketing, Finance, HR, & Supply Chain. I put in place a system to discover new talent, find future employees, increase productivity and staff retention as well as increase the group’s visibility on university and college campuses. I expect students to bring fresh perspectives and new approaches to both project issues and to the company, while learning the ropes. Students are assigned a mentor who guides and trains them in an effective way, and sharpens their knowledge, skills and abilities. I hope the results will be as good as expected.”

My main responsibility is to implement HR strategy and deliver an effective service in conjunction with HR staff in our 22 CFF offices. It also involves connecting subsidiaries and sharing best practices between the countries, and building a bridge between Metro AG and Classic Fine Foods. Additionally, I am the main point of contact for the employees in Head office and Group Processes. Other responsibilities include strategic organizational HR design in conjunction with the CEO and the Board, recruiting top management, as well as managing salary & benefits, employee relations, talent, performance, and more.

The company is constantly growing and changing; the priorities are to develop, retain, and attract talent. I make sure to stay up-to-date with the new laws and legislation, technology and employee expectations. It is never boring and always challenging.

A great day for me is when I'm able to support a team member who needs to talk to someone in the company. By offering my time, I am able to support a colleague with their mental health and well-being. It is also a great achievement when I am able to support the wider team with their career development.

I am currently working on our leadership development program. With an ever-changing work environment and employee expectations, our leaders need to continuously focus on developing their leadership skills. It is important to be exclusive in the job market by offering a competitive compensation package to retain staff and attract new talent.
