IT Department

We like to think of the IT department as the foundation of the company. With the extent to which technology has become an integral part of both private life and business, it’s practically essential for Classic Fine Foods to have an Information Technology, or IT, department to handle all the technological issues that arise.

One of the biggest drivers of the Classic Fine Foods business is efficiency, and the ability to automate routine tasks is a great way to increase overall efficiency. By and large, the IT department is responsible for providing the infrastructure for this automation. At an even more basic level, by enabling the use of networks and operating systems, the IT department enables Classic Fine Foods' employees to communicate, collaborate and automate routine tasks, and generally provides teams with the functionality they need to perform their duties.

Alan IT Manager Hong Kong

Part of my job is finance, mainly accounts payable for 35% , administration for 15%, and IT for the remaining 50%. When I first started, I worked mainly in finance, but nowadays, my major duties are in IT. That includes all aspects relating to IT, from hardware to software, where there is always a lot to learn as it is in constant development. That's what makes the job so interesting! I like to learn while working until it becomes second nature. My knowledge and expertise enable the company to run smoothly.

A great day at work is when my target to ‘Get the job done’ is reached. Working for Classic Fine Foods is like working for a family, everyone is eager to do their best to achieve a common goal.

In 2020, I was named Employee of the Year. At the end of 2018, I was assigned the office relocation project; it was a big challenge, with many months of preparation and a lot of effort, so I am proud and happy that my hard work was rewarded.

Recently, due to the pandemic, I had to put the “Work From Home” scheme in place with our somewhat limited existing resources so that all staff could have a laptop; it was quite a challenge but we got there in the end.
