Everything we do at Classic Fine Foods is about our customers, and this rings most true when it comes to our Sales Team. Our customers are busy chefs, restaurateurs, hoteliers and produce buyers that are at the top of their profession, so we need to give them the support and inspiration needed to create the most incredible dishes to wow their diners.

Our Sales Department are dedicated foodies, many of them ex-chefs themselves, that want to be part of an exciting and fast moving food scene. They are tasked with growing the sales within their customer portfolio, uncovering opportunities for new business, and ensuring that our product launch goals are surpassed. Most importantly, they are knowledgeable and passionate about our brands, and believe in the quality of ingredients and service that we provide.

I work closely with Chefs and individuals from the food industry, I source and supply them with the best ingredients possible, and identify their challenges to offer them tailored solutions.

My favorite part of the job is: the food! We see, we smell, we taste, and talk about food all day long and it’s great to keep learning about new ingredients and new products. I also appreciate the flexibility which comes with my role as I can get out and meet my customers.

In sales, we are always working towards closing deals, so a great day for me is when we receive confirmation from a customer who we have sometimes been working with for weeks. A few years ago, I took over a new customer who, at the time was not a large account, but I saw potential. I worked closely with him over time, developing the relationship and offering new products. Today, he is a key account and represents steady revenue for the company. It is rewarding to see that the work I did really paid off.

Recently, I started working with a more diverse group of customers across different channels. This keeps the job interesting as each customer and each channel have their specifics. It allows me to develop my sales skills as the approach is different depending on the customer and the channel.
